Megan Huffadine

Born in Invercargill, 1955, Megan Huffadine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Otago), Post Graduate Diploma in Anthropology (Otago), Diploma in Teaching (1979); and a BFA from Ilam. She has exhibited in group exhibitions and solo exhibitions throughout New Zealand. One thread of her practise involves environmental concerns, the other focuses on the means by which people express personal identity and history through the objects they gather and own (collections). The objects and forms in her work are derived from the Central Otago locale. Seeds, remnants and discards are sketched from memory, scale is altered and then these are developed into new forms. The forms still retain some sense of their origins.
